SensTEFThe sensor systems CarboSen and KS1D from LAMTEC and the many years of know-how in the field of combustion technology contributed to the success of the joint research project "SensTEF - sensor-supported combustion air control for minimising emissions from biomass boilers".

Within the scope of the collaborative project, the partners focused, in particular, on in-depth investigations into the suitability of various sensors in the exhaust gas, and the development of a sensor-based monitor for the current description of the combustion process, which takes into account not only the usual combustion temperature and residual oxygen concentration, but also the content of the partially or unburned exhaust gas components.

Essential results of the project were presented and discussed with acknowledged experts at the workshop "New sensor and control concepts for wood combustion plants - current results and further research needs" held jointly by the German Biomass Research Center DBFZ, the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and LAMTEC on 20 October 2017 in Karlsruhe.

F200K Thermo-JacketLAMTEC has been developing and selling sensors and systems for combustion technology for over 20 years. We are now introducing a Thermo-Jacket to add to the accessories available for the F200K and F200K Ex compact flame scanners.

Currently the standard F200K is rated for ambient temperatures down to -40 °C and the F200K Ex for temperatures down to -20 °C or -40°C, depending on the version and delivery date. The Thermo-Jacket will allows the F200K to be used with ambient temperatures as low as -55 °C whilst maintaining the lower operating threshold.

The Thermo-Jacket solution consists of the following components:

  • Trace heating element
  • Thermo-Jacket
  • Optional temperature monitoring
(only required in potentially explosive gas atmospheres of Class II 2G)
The benefits of the Thermo-Jacket solution are:
  • Easy assembly with Velcro fasteners
  • Anti-static moisture repellent PTFE Surface
  • Self-limiting temperature Control
      • Prevents overheating
      • No requirement to switch off the heat
    • Certification for potentially explosive gas atmospheres according
to ATEX II 2G Exe II T
    • Temperature range  -55 °C to + 55 °C
    • Visible window to visually monitor the operating state of the flame scanner
    • Low maintenance
